Draft for review. This notice describes what the website actually does, but the items marked [TO CONFIRM] need StoneBase's own details before launch, and the whole notice should be checked by someone qualified. Delete this box once that is done.

Privacy & Cookie Notice

Last updated: 10 August 2026

This notice explains what personal data StoneBase Paving & Landscaping collects when you use this website or enquire about work, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. We handle your data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

StoneBase Paving & Landscaping is a trading name of [TO CONFIRM — owner's full legal name], a sole trader. Because a sole trader has no separate legal personality, that individual is personally the data controller for the personal data described here.

  • Controller: [TO CONFIRM — full legal name], trading as StoneBase Paving & Landscaping
  • Address for correspondence and service of documents: [TO CONFIRM — a UK address must be published here. A service / virtual-office address is fine and keeps a home address private]
  • ICO registration number: [TO CONFIRM — check the ICO self-assessment. A sole trader who keeps customer records in a CRM and runs advertising tracking will normally need to register and pay the annual fee]
  • Email: enquiries@stonebasepavingandlandscaping.co.uk
  • Phone: 0117 463 4841 or freephone 0800 288 4231

These are also our trading disclosures for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006 and the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002, which require a business trading under a name other than the owner's own to publish the owner's name and a UK address. Every page of this site links here.

What we collect, and why

When you send an enquiry

The quote form on this site asks for your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the service you are interested in, and any project details you choose to write. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry, arrange a survey and quote for the work, and keep a record of the job.

Lawful basis: your enquiry is a request to take steps prior to entering a contract (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Where we later contact you about similar services, we rely on legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)), and you can object at any time.

When you enquire through a Facebook or Instagram ad

If you submit one of our lead forms on Facebook or Instagram, Meta passes us the details you entered on that form (typically name, phone, email and your answers to our questions). It reaches the same CRM described below and is used for the same purpose. Meta's own handling of that data is governed by the Meta Privacy Policy.

When you simply browse

Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) to keep the site running and secure. If — and only if — you accept advertising cookies, Meta also receives information about your visit; see Cookies below.

Cookies and similar technologies

We set no advertising or analytics cookies unless you accept them. Nothing is sent to Meta and no Meta cookie is created until you choose "Accept" on the banner. Choosing "Reject" means the Meta Pixel is never loaded at all.

(browser storage, not a cookie)
This site Remembers whether you accepted or rejected advertising cookies, so we don't ask again on every page. Strictly necessary — no consent needed Until you clear your browser storage
_fbp Meta Identifies your browser so Meta can measure whether our ads led to enquiries. Advertising — only with your consent 90 days
_fbc Meta Stores the click identifier from a Meta ad you followed to this site. Advertising — only with your consent 90 days

Changing your mind

You can withdraw or change your choice at any time using the link, which also appears in the footer of every page. Withdrawing deletes the Meta cookies from your browser and stops the pixel. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

The Meta Pixel

With your consent this site loads the Meta Pixel (ID 1577079960881675). It tells Meta that a browser visited our site and, if you send an enquiry, that a lead was submitted. We use this to measure our advertising and to show ads to people with similar interests. For this activity StoneBase and Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd act as joint controllers for the collection and transmission of the data; Meta's subsequent use of it is covered by its own Controller Addendum and Privacy Policy.

Lawful basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that make the business run:

  • HighLevel Inc. (GoHighLevel) — our CRM. Enquiry details are stored here so we can follow them up. Based in the United States.
  • Vercel Inc. — website hosting and server logs. Based in the United States.
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd — advertising measurement, only where you have consented, and for leads submitted through our Facebook or Instagram forms.
  • Google LLC — the site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
  • [TO CONFIRM — add any others actually in use: email provider, accounting software, subcontractors who receive customer addresses]

We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

International transfers

Some of the providers above are based outside the UK, mainly in the United States. Where data is transferred, it is protected by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or by the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, as applicable to that provider.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not become jobs: [TO CONFIRM — 2 years is a common choice], then deleted.
  • Customer and job records: [TO CONFIRM — 6 years is usual, to match HMRC record-keeping and the limitation period for contract claims].
  • Your cookie choice: until you clear it.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • ask us to delete your data, or restrict how we use it;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests, including marketing;
  • ask us to transfer your data to another provider;
  • withdraw consent for advertising cookies at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these, email enquiries@stonebasepavingandlandscaping.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your data we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes to advertising cookies will re-trigger the consent banner.
